National Finals: April 9-11, 2025
Prepare to be amazed as high school students from across the nation showcase their knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and American government. Now in its fifth decade, the National Finals serves as an exciting finale to students' We the People educational journey. The competition utilizes Simulated Congressional Hearings and typically features 48 teams, each representing their respective states.

The competition celebrates months of hard work, collaboration, and learning, and we’re thrilled to have you join us. This page provides all the information you’ll need to make the most of your experience as a guest. From important logistics to tips on supporting your child, we’re here to ensure you have a great time at the competition.
Important Information for Guests
What to Expect
At this event, students will showcase the skills they’ve developed over months of preparation, engaging in thoughtful discussions and presentations. As a parent or guest, you’ll have the opportunity to witness their hard work firsthand. Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect:
- Arrival & Check-In: Each participating team has been assigned to a Hearing Division. Please arrive at least 20 minutes before the Division begins. This will allow you time to register and locate your student’s hearing room. Signs and volunteers will help guide you. Registration is required on both days of the competition.
- Competition Rounds: Each team will present six hearings each day of the competition. You may stay for just your child’s hearing or all six hearings, during which students will present their arguments, answer questions, and engage with judges.
- Breaks: There are no scheduled breaks. If you wish to leave, please do so after the hearing concludes as the judges have exited the room.
- Awards Ceremony: The 3-day event will conclude with an awards ceremony recognizing the hard work of all participants. We encourage you to attend and celebrate with us!
Remember, the competition is as much about the journey as it is about the final results. Support your child by encouraging them to stay calm and enjoy the experience of participating in a national-level event.
