Civic Inquiries for Foundations of Democracy—Lesson Demonstrations

Join us to build a world of elementary engagement with civic inquiry. Educators will discover creative ways to fortify student knowledge of the constitutional principles of authority, justice, privacy, and responsibility through a series of primary source investigations. Civic inquiries are high-quality student-driven lessons that incorporate culturally responsive practices and standards-aligned assessment strategies. This learning suite is aimed at upper elementary grades but could be easily modified for middle or high school students.

The Civics Inquiries for Foundations of Democracy learning suite is sponsored in part by the Library of Congress Teaching with Primary Sources Eastern Region Program, coordinated by Waynesburg University.
