Where will the national finals hearings be held?

On Saturday and Sunday, the competition will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia.
On Monday, the competition will be held in hearing rooms on Capitol Hill.

Where do I go to get my state badge for admittance to national finals hearings and events?

Visitors must register at the Center's information desk each day.

For Saturday and Sunday, the information desk will be in the lobby of the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. 

The location of Monday’s information desk will be announced later.

How long do the hearings last?

Each class will be scheduled for a full round of hearings on Saturday and Sunday. Classes will testify for two hours or two hours and twenty minutes on Saturday and Sunday, with a new unit hearing starting every twenty minutes. A time will be assigned by the Center. The top ten classes competing on Monday will testify once for three hours.

Are cameras, video cameras, and cell phones allowed in the hearing rooms?

Parents, guests, and teachers are allowed to take photos and videotape the hearings with the teacher’s permission. Cell phones should be set to silent mode during the hearings so as to not disturb the students’ presentation.

Who handles the students' travel?

WorldStrides handles the students' travel to the national finals. Your state coordinator will provide you with a package from WorldStrides after winning the state competition.

When will the competition scores be available?

Scores will be emailed to teachers before Wednesday, May 11, 2011.
