Research & Evaluation A variety of quantitative and qualitative studies have been conducted on Center programs to determine their effectiveness. Most of these studies measure civic competence, political knowledge, and civic dispositions related to responsible political engagement among American and international elementary and secondary students. Research reports are organized by program type. In addition to research on students, the Center also encourages evaluations of Center programs and professional development institutes for teachers.
Papers & Speeches The papers, articles and speeches portion of the website contains various presentations and papers prepared by Center staff and individuals within the greater civic education community. Unless specifically noted, the views expressed in these presentations--papers, articles, and speeches--do not reflect the viewpoint of the Center or its programs.
