National Showcase Print

State programs from around the country submit an exemplary student portfolio for evaluation at the Project Citizen National Showcase each year. The portfolios represent work done by middle grade students and youth organization participants to analyze local issues within their school, community, or state and present public policy solutions to address their selected problem. Members of state legislatures, legislative staff, and educators serve as evaluators for the showcase. Achievement-level results are based on the average score of three rounds of portfolio evaluation.

In the past, state legislators attending National Conference of State Legislature's Legislative Summit have evaluated the portfolios. The achievement levels were announced at the plenary session of the Legislative Summit.
