Though we here at the Center for Civic Education know how incredible all We the People teachers are, one high school teacher from Trumbull, Connecticut is receiving nationwide recognition for her exceptional performance and “life-changing” attitude.

Katie Boland of Trumbull High School was recently featured on HooplaHa and The Huffington Post, and recognized for her inspirational teaching-style and deep-rooted passion for American history and government. In a video accompanying the HooplaHa post, Boland’s students speak animatedly about their love of Boland’s class, and the We the People program.

Trumbull High School has appeared at the We the People National Finals in the past, and will compete again in 2017.

Boland has also received the Connecticut “Teacher of the Year” award.
