Mar 24, 2014 / 2014 National Finals
Students from Tahoma High School of Covington, Washington, and Lincoln High School, of Portland, Oregon, met in Portland recently in advance of the We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution National Finals.
After a month of planning between Tahoma teacher Gretchen Wulfing and Lincoln teacher Tim Swinehart, the Washington state champion We the People team from Tahoma High School spent the day in Portland, hosted by the Lincoln High School We the People team, the Oregon state champions.
The theme of the day was Fun, Friendship, and Learning. Activities together ranged from coach lectures, getting competition insight from past national judges based in Oregon, paired unit meetings to discuss follow-up questions, and some sightseeing of downtown Portland.
